Spring Break

Today was my last kids’ Buddhist workshop of the Spring term.  I feel so privileged to have been able to spend Wednesday afternoons with such an awesome bunch of children.  Aged between 5 and 10, these children are already so skillful at meditating.  And some of the discussions this term have been so profound that they’ve left me wondering who’s actually teaching who?  I’m sure I’ve learnt as much from them (if not more!) than they have from me.  With children like this around, the future could indeed be very bright

The children also produced some beautiful artwork this term.  Here’s a small selection…

Since we’re about to embark on Spring Break, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for me to do a little work on myself 😉  For the next two weeks, I’m going to unplug (no mobile, iPad, laptop, pc, internet, email, tv) and focus on studying my Buddhist texts, meditating and spending quality time with my boys.

I look forward to catching up with you in a couple of weeks when hopefully I’ll be fully refreshed and revived 🙂

I bid you all a wonderful Spring Break xx

  1. What beautiful artwork! Aren’t kids just awesome? I have been really enjoying the kids in my art class again this year–it always makes me so happy to hear them talk about things they have learned from little ol’ me! Your kids must have an excellent teacher to be doing so well with meditation!
Enjoy your peaceful time without technology. I think it is so good for the soul to unplug once in awhile. I have drastically reduced my ‘techno’ time and have been loving it. I wish you a wonderful spring break and hope you get some sunshine to go along with it. Enjoy your boys!

    1. Thanks Candy ♥
I know exactly what you mean! I’ve appreciated every moment I’ve spent with these awesome kids. I must start writing down some of things they say to me and their descriptions of their visualised meditations because they are mind blowing!
I am so looking forward to my ‘mini retreat’. This is my last 60 seconds on the pc before I pull the plug. Have a wonderful Spring break with your boys too! I’ll see you back here in a couple of weeks xx

  3. Stumbled on your website whilst searching for a recipe and am so delighted to have done so. It is a really great blog that you have, given me so much inspiration and the type of food you cook is just my taste. Really enjoying reading through your posts. Beautiful artwork, those are some talented kids. Sounds good a total break from technology, hope that you enjoy.

    1. I’m so happy to hear that you’re enjoying the blog, Shonaigh. Thank you so much for leaving me such a lovely comment.
It was wonderful to have a break from technology and, to be honest, it’s taking me a while to get back into it. It’s always tricky to find a balance isn’t it? I do apologise for the lack of posts these past couple of weeks. I’m sure I’ll get back into the swings of things very shortly. I’m in the process of arranging some great giveaways. I’ll hopefully be able to post the first one next week 🙂 xx

  4. I know you won’t get to read this for another week or so, but I hope you are enjoying your spring break.

The artwork the kids produced is phenomenal. You never know what talent some people have.

I think 2 weeks of unplugging sounds divine, hopefully you will remember to plug back in so we can all be back in touch.

The best to you Sharon 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comments Rachel. As you will have no doubt seen, my 2 weeks of unplugging extended into nearly a month. It was wonderful to have a break from technology but I missed the connections I have with long distance friends like yourself. It’s great to be back in touch 🙂 xx
